Cefalù is a lovely town on the northen coast of Sicily boasting some of the most impressive medieval buildings (its cathedral dates back to the 12th century and was built by Roger II), and some of the nicest stretches of fine-sand beaches in Northern Sicily.
No wonder, therefore that is has long been a port of call for many visitors that admire the way it precariously hangs off the cliff almost tipping into the sea. It's cobbled streets take you through the old city, with buildings boasting elaborate decorations and numerous churches, all the way down to the fishermen's quarter by the sea.
