A February weekend in Sicily: Etna or Agrigento Mandorlo in Fiore Festival?
Posted on Wednesday 24th of February 2010 under Etna | Events | Festivities | General | Journeys | Photography | Travel
When thinking about visiting Sicily, one usually thinks either about spring or summer as the ideal time to enjoy the island. However, every month of the year can offer special Sicilian experiences to visitors and Siciliani alike.
I must admit that last weekend (20th-21st of February) choosing what to do was pleasantly hard. "Shall we go to Etna or to Agrigento Mandorlo in Fiore Festival?
We went to have fun on the Etna slope while our friend Andrea went to Agrigento.

Today we celebrate San Giovanni, Saint John day, with processions taking palce in many towns around Sicily.
Just in the Province of Ragusa, where our cookery school is based, there are 4 processions, one in Ragusa, one in Monterosso Almo and in Pozzallo.
"Modica and its heavenly sights" on the Financial Times

I just came accross an interesting article about Modica on the Financial Times wonderfully written by Dan Hofstadter.
The title of the article is Modica and its heavenly sights
In spite of heavy rain on the day, Modica charmed the author with its stunning Baroque architecture, its history, its food and chocolate, of course!
A visit at Felice's
Posted on Thursday 26th of April 2007 under History | Journeys | Wine
Our cookery season is back on track and the first course is near its end. A wonderful bunch of people that truly enjoy cooking, wine and taking in everything Sicily has to offer.
One of our stops was at the Felice Modica estate - an up and coming winery with very promising Nero d'Avola DOC wine with wonderful reviews from both Gambero Rossi and the Veronelli Guide.
