Introduction

This agriturismo is located on the south-eastern slopes of Etna, in the heart of Baron Scammacca del Murgo's family estate where they produce some of the finest wines produced on Mount Etna and one of the few Sicilian "spumanti". In 2001, two old buildings of the property were carefully restored and converted into comfortable accommodations for visitors. These are just a walk away from the winery, surrounded by 25 hectares of vineyards and offer the breathtaking view of Mount Etna on one side and the cost on the opposite side, with Taormina on the left and Acireale on the right.

Location

The Agriturismo is situated 500m above sea level on the south-eastern slopes of Etna, few minutes away from the centre of Zafferana Etnea and just 10 km from the coast.

Taormina is just 30 km away and Catania and its airport are 28 km away.

Tenuta San Michele - Etna Winery, is about 10km from the sea and 28km from the airport of Catania.

Rooms & Facilities

You can choose from two kinds of accommodation, rooms and mini self-catering apartments. The twin or double rooms are all en-suite with mini bar, satellite TV, telephone, ceiling fan, and heating. Some rooms also have an independent entrance.

The mini apartments, all sleeping 4, have a double or twin bedroom, living-room with sofa bed and kitchenette, satellite TV, bathroom and independent entrance.

Breakfast is served in the old cellar converted into a cosy lounge or under a pergola overlooking the volcano. You will have the chance to taste the excellent fruit, jams and marmalades produced in the estate.

Small groups can also enjoy a visit to the winery and a wine tasting session. Traditional rustic food is served in the cosy restaurant area overlooking the cost and is accompanied by the excellent wines produced on the estate. The swimming pool surrounded by vineyards offers the chance of a relaxing swim with a view of the cost and the imposing presence of Mount Etna.

Children up to 3 years old do not pay, from 4 to 15 a 50% discount and from 16 to 18 a 30% discount.
